Meet Dr Alison

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM)

Dr Alison’s journey is as vibrant and varied as she is! Her career has taken her from the classroom as a high school science teacher, to the great outdoors as an education ranger with Queensland National Parks and Wildlife Service, and even on the road as a travelling science communicator.

Fuelled by a boundless love of learning and an insatiable curiosity, Dr Alison has gathered a wealth of knowledge and experience in diverse fields. She seamlessly weaves these into her daily work as a veterinarian, always eager to inspire, teach and share her passion for animals with everyone she meets.

Before founding Comfy Critters Home Vet, Dr Alison worked in a range of clinical settings, including general practice, mobile vet care, and emergency/urgent clinics. She started Comfy Critters Home Vet with a few heartfelt goals:

  • To take the time to provide high quality, comprehensive veterinary care

  • To offer education that strengthens the human-animal bond and where possible, reduces the need for veterinary intervention

  • To make veterinary care a positive experience for you and your pet through gentle handling and positive reinforcement
